Walrus safariTwo tons of happiness

Join us on a fascinating day trip to observe one of Svalbard’s largest and most social marine mammals: the walrus.
Aboard our heated, enclosed RIB boats, we’ll cruise safely and comfortably to one of the archipelago’s best-known walrus haul-out sites. Once there, we’ll land on shore and observe them respectfully, from a safe distance (if the conditions allow)These enormous yet curious animals often lift their heads to take a look at us — and sometimes, they come even closer. This tour offers excellent opportunities for photography, storytelling, and a delicious lunch enjoyed in a spectacular Arctic setting.

What You’ll Experience

🦭 A Close Encounter with Arctic Giants

From the beach, you’ll observe the walrus colony as they rest, interact, and shift around the shore. Their size, tusks, and facial expressions make for unforgettable moments — both majestic and strangely charming.

🛥 Smooth & Safe Arctic Cruising

We travel on enclosed, heated RIB boats designed for comfort in all conditions. On board, you’ll enjoy panoramic views, access to the outdoor deck, and the security of a stable ride, regardless of the weather.

📸 Photo & Nature Stops

On the way, we’ll enjoy the coastal scenery and may spot seabirds, seals, or even whales. We’ll also take time to talk about the walrus’s role in Svalbard’s ecology and history — and why protecting these animals is so important.

Important information

All animals on Svalbard roam freely. Later in the season, chances for wildlife encounters may decrease, as many species begin migrating south. In these cases, we place greater focus on Svalbard’s dramatic nature, rich history, and the beautiful light conditions of the Arctic autumn.
