Ursus Maritimus – East Coast ExtremeA full-day snowmobile expedition to Svalbard’s most remote and spectacular coastline

If you’re looking for a true Arctic expedition, this is it!
This tour offers the longest distance we travel in a single day, crossing wide glaciers, remote valleys, and endless Arctic wilderness – all the way to the dramatic east coast of Spitsbergen.

Here, sea ice meets towering glacier fronts, and the polar bear reigns.
It’s a day of raw nature, pure silence during our stops, and breathtaking scenery – far from civilisation.

🧭 The Longest Day Trip

This is our most extensive snowmobile route: a full-day expedition with spectacular variation – from valleys and mountain passes to glaciers and the open sea ice.

🐻 Prime Polar Bear Habitat

The east coast is the most likely place on the main island to see polar bears. While sightings are never guaranteed, tracks and signs are common – and the thrill of knowing you’re in their territory is unforgettable.

❄️ Glacier Fronts and Sea Ice

Reaching the edge of the island, you’ll experience massive glacier fronts dropping into the sea, and vast fields of sea ice stretching into the horizon – a highlight of Arctic travel.

I went on the Ursus Maritimus – King of the Arctic trip to the East Coast and it was one of the best things I’ve ever done!

We never experienced something similar in our lifes. It was amazing.

We did two tours with better moments and couldn‘t have picked a better company! The service was great and the guides were super nice and knowledgeable.
